Dear Parent(s),

            My goal in AP Psychology is to educate your child to the best of my ability and utilization of the most modern/up-to-date resources. I will use whatever means best exemplifies the topics at hand. The main types of methods I will use will be the LCD projector, charts, and lectures. There will be a great deal of reading. However, to try and fuse all the material together, the best way for a child to remember tends to be visually. Being that it is generally unsafe to bring an unmedicated-diagnosesed-schizophrenic into an unfamiliar atmosphere surrounded by children, I will use media such as documentaries and movies to exemplify my point. Unfortunately, due to the seriousness of some of the diseases we discuss, there is often an “R” rating on the movie. The PBS movies also have graphic language. I will use these films, in brevity, in order to demonstrate some of the severe and serious problems that surround these diseases. If you feel that your son or daughter should NOT be an audience to such demonstrations, please call me or e-mail me at let me know. I would like to discuss it with you to find out why. If your reasons are personal and you do not wish to tell me, that is acceptable also. This is worth credit; therefore a response of some sort is necessary. If you do agree with my methods, simply sign the document so that it may be turned in for credit. Even if your child is 18, because you are the primary tax payer and they a dependent of you, parental approval is necessary.
